The Dragon's Labyrinth is the great secret that Jace spent so much time on during his time on Ravnica. Now the riddle is solved, thanks to the Izzet and their Niv-Mizzet leader, Dracogenius. A certain Ral Zarek, a young high-ranking Guild mage, used Jace Beleren's notes (and the help of his assistant Skreeg) to understand that at the end of the labyrinth, in the forum of Azor, lies a incredible power. . It's unknown what exactly this power is, but we can expect it to be pretty impressive.
The Implicit Labyrinth itself was created by one of the initiators of the original guild pact, Azor I. and was intended to serve as a peaceful remedy for a time when the guild pact no longer exists. That time has come and so manifests the Labyrinth, made up of mystical paths of Mana and leylines, which drag through the city, particularly through the ancient guild gates, which house Magic itself.
Niv-Mizzet takes advantage of Ral Zarek's discovery by starting a competition. Each of the ten guilds must then send a champion onto the transguild walk from where she can try to solve the labyrinth's puzzle.
Of course, for this they have to invade other guilds and likewise are those who are only marginally interested in supporting someone else, as the prize is quite compelling. To quote Niv-Mizzet: "One being... will rule the guilds of Ravnica."
It is not surprising that the ten guilds delegate their best warriors:
Azorius: Lavinia of the Tenth
Boros: Tajic, Blade of the Legion
Dimir: Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker
Golgari: Varloz, the Scarred
Gruul: Ruric-Thar, the Untamed
Izzet: Melek, Izzeth Hero
Orzhov: Teysa, envoy of the ghosts
Rakdos: Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch
Selection: Emmara Tandris
Simic: Vorel of the Hull Clade
Who wins this strange competition and what danger lies behind the ancient guild gates? These two questions must be answered, as well as who will rule Ravnica in the end. After all, neither Niv-Mizzet nor Ral Zarek are known for their honesty, and as the people who first discovered the Labyrinth, I would be very surprised if they didn't have an ace up their sleeve.
And then there's Jace, of course. Jace Beleren not only spent his time on Ravnica examining the Labyrinth, but also freed his old friend Emmara from the hands (and teeth) of Mirko Vosk. Therefore he had to clash with other champions of the guild, in particular Exava, a Rakdos Blood Witch. She came close to defeating Jace several times. Her last rescue, Mr. Beleren, owes it to none other than Lazav, lord of House Dimir, whose plans are as mysterious as Lazav himself (?) And so we too can be excited about the role that Jace will have to play.
