Azul - The Queen's Garden is a Board Game in Italian by Michael Kiesling and Ghenos Games for 2-4 players, duration 50 min age for 10+
King Manuel I commissioned Portugal's best planners to create the most extraordinary garden ever for his wife, Queen Maria of Aragon.
In Azul – The Garden of the Queen, players are in charge of creating a splendid garden for the gracious wife of the King, artfully arranging beautiful plants, trees and ornaments.
Through an innovative tile acquisition system, a unique feature of the Azul series, players will have to carefully choose which ones to decorate their garden. Only the most skilled planners will prosper and receive the Queen's blessing.
The game takes place in 4 rounds, each consisting of 3 phases. Players will have to collect tiles and garden expansions to create compositions of shapes and colors by getting the most points.
PHASE 1: Players take turns taking tiles and garden expansions (of the same figure, but different colors OR of the same color, but different figures), OR they place a tile OR a garden expansion.
PHASE 2: the players calculate the score based on the colors and/or figures that provide points in the round and the visible pavilions in their garden.
PHASE 3: the tiles and garden expansions are arranged for the next round. In addition, the colors and shapes for the end-of-round points are displayed.
At the end of the fourth round, the final score is calculated. The points accumulated previously with the remaining jokers are added up, the points provided by each group of at least 3 or 6 hexagons of the same color. At this point you subtract the values of the tiles on your deposit. The player with the highest score wins.
