MYTHOS THE HIDDEN ONE FACTION STARTER

THE HIDDEN ONES FACTION STARTER SET Servants of the sunken Pantheon, the Downworlders live in coastal cities and villages around the world. Through corruption and interbreeding, the Downworlders inextricably link their community to the sea and to the Terrible Father Dagon, the Deepmother Hydra, and the other ancient deities they worship. The transformation of villages into barren cities has forced Downworlders further into the shadows and pushed them towards isolated communities where it is easier to go unnoticed. Families may prey on their neighbors, regarding them as little more than talkative sheep ready to be slaughtered. Food is no problem for these ancient bloodlines who lurk among the rest of us, and their numbers are growing with each cycle. Typical of these tainted communities are the abysmally twisted residents of Dunsmouth, Rhode Island. The authority over almost everything in town is a putrid witch known as the Witch of Dunsmouth. Rooted in the oldest legends, no one knows her true origin, but the Witch has certainly lived in Dunsmouth for over a century. Popular gossip has it that a century earlier, a much younger and prettier woman, mourning her dead son, went to sea in hopes of speedy oblivion. She returned with a crying child, a gift from the sunken pantheon. That son grew up tall and strong, with the blessings of the depths evident under his rain-soaked oilcloth hat. Any threat to the Downworlders is sure to find The Witch of Dunsmouth or her son, The Fisherman, within striking distance. The Fisherman is a grumpy and violent man. Never seen in the city, except when the tide is high and death is at hand. Too often the Fisherman's specter is the last thing a victim sees before a blood-encrusted harpoon drags him down to feed oblivion. Those steadfast in their devotion to the sunken Pantheon are often blessed with children touched by the abyss below. These hybrids pass as human, except when confronted with fire or certain words of power. There are some children of Downworlders who do not have such mixed heritage. The Angler is one such creature, born of a human mother but with no trace of humanity in her own flesh. The Angler is both daughter of Dunsmouth and progenitor of the deep. She is a true Drowned. Loyal to her mother and father, Molly Malone, she is desperate for such favor. The Malone family has served the Sunken Pantheon for generations. The youngest of twelve siblings, Molly feared there was no way she herself could bring further honor to her lineage. She thanked the stars for that night when the Witch sought her out and gave her this important task. The titanic crab, Click-Clack, must be lured out of port when needed. Collecting the bucketful of human entrails needed for this purpose is Molly's privileged role, which she plays by disemboweling sleeping homeless people and passing visitors to their beautiful city. An immense crustacean from the dark caverns of the deep, Click-Clack is often found clinging to the undersides of the city's fishing boats. There the creature lurks, traveling to fishing grounds and feasting on its tithe of its catch before returning to the city each night to answer the call of Terror and the Deep. The Hidden Ones Faction Starter Set contains 1x The Fisherman 1x The Dunsmouth Witch 1x Click-Clack 1x Molly Malone 1x The Angler 5x Bases Miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly.
