The lights and sounds can be activated with the included remote which stores in a hidden compartment right next to the speaker. For those looking to add even more depth to R2's story, his dome can be positioned however you wish, along with the holographic projectors.

R2 sits atop a Millennium Falcon themed baseplate, to give an added touch of presence to your collection.
