Born in Edoras, EowynTM suffered the untimely death of her parents, and was forced to care for her ailing uncle, King Theoden,TM whose health was rapidly failing under the growing control of SarumanTM and Grima Wormtongue. The strong and beautiful Eowyn was trained as a Shield Maiden, and she was reputed to have surpassed many Rohirrim men in skill and skill. She carried a full-sized sword, measuring nearly three feet in length from tip to hilt. The bronze guard and pommel were beautifully designed in honor of the meara, to enhance the grip of Eowyn's small hand on the sword. The grip was made with a raised center section of three bronze rings. A wide fuller groove runs along 3/4 of the blade to reduce weight while maintaining critical blade strength. This type of fuller was common among the royal swords of the Rohirrim.
