In an attempt to escape the evil sorcerer Gargamel, the little blue smurfs will find themselves far from their village and exactly arrive in New York, in the middle of Central Park. The Smurfs will thus have to find a way to return to their village before Gargamel captures them.

In an attempt to capture the magical "blue essence" of the Smurfs, the evil sorcerer Gargamel creates the Naughties Pestifera and Frullo, a pair of mischievous creatures similar to the cute little blue men. However, only a real Smurf can give him what he's looking for, and since Smurfette is the only one who knows the secret spell that can transform the Naughties into real Smurfs, Gargamel decides to kidnap her and take her to Paris, the city where he is known and admired by millions of people as the best wizard in the world. To save Smurfette, Papa Smurf, Clumsy, Grouchy and Vanity therefore join their human friends Patrick and Grace Winslow and go in search of him. Meanwhile Smurfette, who has always felt different from the other smurfs, has formed a special bond with Pestifera and Shake. Will she be convinced by her friends that their love for her is True Blue?
